University of Northern Colorado

The purpose of this proposal is to develop two, 4-credit integrated science courses to be taught at two-year Colorado institutions. The courses are fully intended to meet the science requirements for elementary teacher preparation programs at four-year institutions. The courses would be part of the statewide articulation agreement, guarantying any student can transfer into an elementary teacher preparation program. The courses are targeted for students interested in meeting the Colorado Model Science Content Standards and Performance Based Standards for science preparation in elementary teacher programs.
