The Colorado Science Education Network (CSEN) is a FREE organization that meets about 7 times a year to: · Network with leaders in science education across the state of Colorado · Provide professional development for science leaders · Address current issues facing science education and educators CSEN is for:
- K-16 Science Educational Leaders
- Emerging Science Teacher Leaders
- Science Educators in Informal Education Organizations
- Scientists and Business Leaders

Thursday, December 11, 2008 "Science for English-Language Learners" at McREL, Denver Matt Kuhn, coordinator & host You are invited to the Colorado Science Educator Network's meeting on December 11, from 8:30-12:00 at McREL (see "Maps" at http://www.mcrel.org/about for directions). This session will first introduce participants to the unique instructional needs of English Language Learners. Then, through hands-on activities, participants will have the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of selected research-based strategies that support comprehension and academic language development in science instruction. This session is presented by McREL ELL Specialist, Cynthia Björk and McREL Systemic Improvement Consultant, David Rease.
