****COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT****
Are you interested in trying clickers in your classroom? You may have
heard about this technology, which puts a small wireless device in
the hands of each of your students. You ask a question, the students
each transmit a response. The results are instantly recorded, compiled,
and displayed so you know how many of your students understand the
concept. In addition to this real-time feedback, along the way you've
managed to actively engage every student in their learning!
The Colorado School of Mines offers an outreach program designed to put
this technology in YOUR classroom. We loan you all necessary equipment
(clickers, LCD projector, and laptop computer) and provide as much
support as you need to learn how to use it. This course is also appropriate for teachers who may have access to a bag of clickers but are not really sure how to use them. Past participants (and
their students) have been very enthusiastic about their successes when
using this technology! Completion of the course qualifies you for
future check-out privileges of all equipment.
This course is offered through the CSM Teacher Enhancement Program and
the CSM Physics Department; it is appropriate for all disciplines. The
tuition fee is $125 and the course earns you one semester credit hour of
recertification credit.
Course dates (held on CSM campus):
Nov. 3 8 AM-4 PM AND Dec. 1 8 AM-noon
