The President's Environmental Youth Awards (PEYA) recognizes young people,
K-12, across America for projects and activities which demonstrate their
commitment to the environment. Projects cover a wide range of subject areas
including recycling programs in schools and communities; construction of
nature preserves; major tree planting programs; trail restoration,
revitalization: videos, skits, and newsletters created by students that
focused on environmental issues; and environmental science projects. All
participants receive a certificate signed by the President and each winning
regional project receives a trip to the National PEYA Awards Ceremony in
Washington, DC.

 

The deadline for the 2007 PEYA is October 31, and we have not received any
applications for this worthwhile program. Please pass the word to your
counterparts and to anyone who might be interested in the program.
