Register for UNC TLC Classes
The Technology Learning Center (TLC) provides on-site professional development classes for K-16 teachers and general community members through the Widening Our World Program (WOW). Training is offered to school districts, small businesses, libraries and other groups throughout Colorado and is based on materials developed by the TLC staff.
The goal is to provide the highest quality professional development at a reasonable cost. The University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, pays instructors's salaries.
Schools and organizations within a community are encouraged to apply for on-site professional development, which includes hands-on workshops taught by professionally trained Internet education specialists and access to online training materials. We have already trained 150,000 teachers, small business entrepreneurs, and community members throughout the West with positive results.
Objectives:
Meet participant needs for professional development and training designed to guide them through the vast network of resources on the Internet.
- Provide participants with the tools and materials necessary to exploit the Internet and find high-quality content.
- Help educators work with their peers to create useful lesson plans, activities, and research exercises.
- Make it easier for teachers to transfer the learning potential from educational web sites to the classroom.
- Provide participants with jump-start classes on the use of software applications and technology in general.
